Steps under Direct Entry Scheme: CA Direct Entry

Congratulations on completing your commerce graduation! The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) offers the Direct Entry Scheme, a fast-track route for recent commerce graduates to become a Chartered Accountant (CA) without completing the CA Foundation level.

Eligibility For Direct Entry Route In CA

  • Commerce Background graduates with at least 55% passing percentage.

  • Science & Humanities students with at least 60% of passing percentage.

  • Students who have passed the CA Intermediate level examination of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India [ICSI] or the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India [ICWA] 

  • Provisional Registration: Students who are appearing for the final year of Graduation can also register under the provisional scheme. With the understanding that he will pass his graduating final exams with at least a 55% grade, a student is permitted to enroll for Inter level during his last year of graduation.

A) He needs to submit proof of being graduated within six months of applying under the Provisional Scheme. 

B) After being registered under the Provisional Scheme, students can undergo ICITSS training for 4 weeks. If students fail to submit the proof within said period the registration for the course gets canceled, without any refund of fees.


Steps under Direct Entry Scheme:

a. Eligible Graduates and Post Graduates…

  • BOS registration (provisional registration allowed to the students doing Final year of graduation). Click here for the filling the form.

  • Complete 4 Weeks of ICITSS before starting Practical Training.

  • Register for 3 Years of Practical Training in the old scheme & 2 years of training under the new scheme.

  • Appear in Intermediate Examination after 9 months of Practical Training.

  • Pass CA Inter exams. 
b. Students who have taken the Institute of Company Secretaries of India or the Institute of Cost Accountants of India’s Intermediate level exam…
  • Complete your 8 months of study time.

  • Now appear & pass in either or both Groups of CA Inter Course.

  • Complete 4 Weeks ICITSS anytime after registering for Intermediate Course but before initiating Practical Training.

  • Register for 3 Years of Practical Training in the old scheme & 2 years of training under the new scheme.
